MacLatch connects your iPhone or iPad to a Mac you choose. There is no MacLatch account, no advertising or analytics SDK, and no server of ours in the middle. This page says what the app handles and where it goes.

Remote sessions

Screen images and your pointer and keyboard input travel directly between your device and the Mac, over the route you set up: your local network, a private network such as Tailscale, or an SSH tunnel. MacLatch does not run a relay and never receives your sessions. Your Mac and any network service you use have their own privacy practices.

Saved connections and credentials

Saved connections are stored on your device. Passwords and SSH keys are kept separately in the device's Keychain and are never included in exports or iCloud sync. The SSH device key is created on your device and does not leave it.

Optional iCloud sync

If you turn on iCloud sync, the non-secret details of your saved connections are stored in your private iCloud database so your other devices can use them. It is off until you turn it on. The developer cannot access your private iCloud database. Turning sync off stops syncing; it does not erase records already in iCloud.

Purchases and the free trial

Apple processes App Store purchases. The seven-day trial is a free in-app purchase you start yourself; MacLatch reads Apple's signed transaction records on your device to know when your trial began and whether you own the one-time unlock. The developer keeps no customer account or purchase database and receives no payment details.

Local network

To find Macs near you, MacLatch asks iOS for local network access and looks for Macs that advertise Screen Sharing. The results stay on your device.

Diagnostics

Connection diagnostics stay on your device. The app never sends them to the developer automatically. If you choose to share a diagnostic report, you pick where it goes; review it before sending. Reports leave out passwords, keys and host names.

Tracking

MacLatch does not track you across apps or websites, does not use the advertising identifier, and collects no analytics. The developer collects no data from the app.
